Discover All The Things Your Ipad Can Do

An iPad is a great gadget. You can listen to music or search the web. But, if you don"t know how to use it, you won"t get far. Keep reading for some useful tips on using the iPad, from people who have learned to master them.

Folders are now supported by the iPad"s iOS. To create a folder, move an app and put it on top one. This action will make a folder that contains both apps named with whatever category the apps are. If you would like to name the folder yourself, that can be done as well.

Soft Reset

Should your iPad freeze, you can reboot it by performing a soft reset. For a soft reset, you will need to simultaneously hold the home button and power button for several seconds. This will cause your device to restart. When an app is stuck, you can hold the Home button and it should close.

Is that app you just launched making too much noise? You can quickly turn the sound down by holding down the "vol -" button until it is muted. Alternately, you could configure the button labeled LOCK ORIENTATION to use instead of the mute button.

Download the manual onto your iPad if you need it. Apple doesn"t include manuals with their products in order to maintain a minimalistic image.

Want to put in the Google Calender on the iPad calendar app? Simply navigate to Mail, Contacts, and calendars. Choose Add An Account, then Other. Tap that you wish to Add CalDAV Account and then put in the information for Google. Click the home button to exit the settings menu and enter your calendar application. Your information should now be there!

Everyone should know how to best take care of their very valuable iPad. It should never be left in a hot car or in direct sunlight. The heat will kill your battery. Additionally, never mix liquids and iPads, or else you risk damage. Lastly, a protective cover is a great idea to keep your iPad safe from drops and bumps.

It"s fairly easy to grab a quick screenshot on your iPad. Just press the home and sleep buttons simultaneously. This will take the shot you want and place it with all of your other photos.

Muting your iPad can come in handy when needed. As you might know, previous iPad versions did not have this capability. Once iOS 4.3 came out, there was an option added where your lock switch can mute the sound. To perform a fast mute, all that you need to do is press and hold the volume-down button.

Establish FaceTime telephone numbers and email addresses. You can add as many emails as you wish. If you need FaceTime to recognize additional numbers or addresses, it is possible to use the "settings" area to accomplish that.

If you are almost always connected to the internet in one way or another, then don"t overlook the cloud function of the iPad. Doing so can save your information without running out of HD space. Put anything that you think is important on your cloud, in addition to keeping it on your tablet.

If you want to access your documents on your PC or Mac, use iTunes to sync your iPad. It"s very easy to interact with iTunes now and share documents. It is also quite easy to send your PDF"s over the Internet and then download them from a remote system.

You can manage the notifications that come through on your iPad. With multiple apps, you are sure to see lots of alerts and whatnot popping up all the time. You can remedy this by choosing Settings and then Notifications. You can easily manage which applications send alerts and which don"t. Doing this enables you to filter alerts so that you know that any alerts you do get are important.

Default Search Engine

Is the iPad default search engine leaving you dissatisfied? Simply try selecting a different search engine. In settings, you can click on Safari and change your search engine. You will see a list from which you can select a new default search engine. There are several search engine options including Bing, Google and Yahoo.

PDFs can be put on the iPad through two methods. Either place the PDF inside iTunes and sync it with the iPad, or send an email to yourself on your iPad. Experiment with each method to determine which works for you.

Using the information you have learned here, your iPad can be a much more useful tool in your daily life. Remember these tips and try sharing them with others you know who have an iPad. It feels good to be able to share helpful advice with others that need help with their iPad, too.
