My first reaction to the iPad being touted as the eBook reader to end all eBook readers was skepticism. While the tablet is not the most expensive eBook reader out there (iRex and others have heftier price tags), it is not cheap, and doesn"t have some of the capabilities that much cheaper eBook readers do have.
However, I have been following the iPad eBook reader forum on mobileread.com, and reading posts there has given me a different viewpoint. For some users, the iPad does make a good eBook reader choice - when they have other uses for the iPad as well.
